The Importance of Children’s Eye Exams
Your child’s eye exams are essential because their eyes are constantly growing. While your child develops many visual skills with age, there’s always the risk of eye conditions developing. An undiagnosed eye problem can affect your child’s school performance, social interactions, and self-esteem.
The tests we complete during your child’s eye exam help us identify eye problems as early as possible and recommend a treatment plan to help them enjoy clear, comfortable, healthy vision.
Eye Exam Frequency
Your child needs several eye exams as they grow to help ensure their vision is functioning well and to help detect any eye issues. According to the Canadian Association of Optometrists, your child’s eye exams should follow this schedule:
- Their first exam between 6–9 months old
- One exam between ages 2–5
- Annual exams from 6–19

this place deserves all of the 5 star reviews they get! From the moment I walked in Eduardo was attentive and friendly. Dr. Saggu was amazing, informative & proactive. Not to mention the eye exam is $99 which is the lowest I’ve seen in the area. I’ll never go anywhere else for my eye care!

What a find! Got my daughter’s glasses made from here. The place is so welcoming for a 3 year old with toys for engagement, she didn’t want to leave. As parents, we were extremely satisfied as all our questions were answered with utmost patience while Eduardo helped us find the right fit. We also got the glasses within 2 days, right before our travel. Faster turn around than all the other places we spoke to.

Had a great experience getting my eyes checked at a very reasonable price. The staff took their time and answered all my questions. Was able to book online and get it done within a couple days. The parking is available around back in the underground parking or on the side of the building. A nice selection of glasses available to pick from.

We had a wonderful experience from start to finish, we did the eye exam and then chose glasses. Booking an appointment online was quick and easy. Dr. Woo was very thorough with the eye exam, and I actually learned more about my vision than I ever knew!! He answered all my questions and explained every step in detail. Eduardo Frey, the optician and owner, was very welcoming. He is great with kids and helped me choose my frames. All regular brands are available, but it's also important to mention that he has some exclusive brands, such as Colcci Eyewear, Ana Hickmann, Mormaii. I ended up also getting a pair of Colcci sunglasses I fell in love with and just couldn't leave behind. And the price point was amazing! Thanks for making this hassle-free and so pleasant! Even had an espresso while trying on my frames. 100% recommended!
